A single recharge earns a few rupees. But every customer who pays a bill at your shop comes back next month, and the month after. That regular visit is where the real value is.
1. Put up a clear sign
Many people don't know a local shop can take electricity bills or FASTag recharges. A simple board at the entrance listing your services does a lot of the work.
2. Remind regular customers
Keep a note of when regular customers pay their bills. A short WhatsApp reminder a few days before the due date brings them back to you instead of an app.
3. Share receipts on WhatsApp
Sending the receipt on WhatsApp gives the customer a record and saves your number on their phone. Next time, they message you first.
4. Help with the difficult ones
Older customers often struggle with apps for gas bookings, loan EMIs or credit card bills. Doing these for them builds trust that turns into AEPS and money transfer business.
5. Bundle services
Someone paying an electricity bill might also need a mobile recharge or a FASTag top-up. Ask once. It takes seconds and often doubles the value of the visit.
Check which services your customers use most in your daily report, and promote those first.
